These bus convoys are horrible. Speeding, blocking traffic, ignoring traffic laws. Like said previously, something needs to be done to reign these in. Including the "hi-so" politicians riding in them who thinks it's OK to travel like this.

Just a couple of weeks ago I was on an open stretch of highway about 10 a.m., no other traffic in sight. Then I saw a bus in my mirror coming up behind me very quickly. Turned out to be 2 buses, and it didn't take them long to catch me,pass me, and quickly vanish ahead of me. And I was on my CBR doing 130kph at the time.

My regards to the families of the decease. The sad part is these buses think they own the road when they travel in packs. I have been on the roads many time when they will take over the right lane and block everyone else, changing lanes back and forth. You can see something is going to happen sooner or later.

The sad thing most travelling by tour bus is to travel overnight, which puts strain on the drivers who wouuld have started work early the day before..like travelling to the pick up points, cleaning etc.. All to save on the cost of one nights hotel costs. Plus these buses tend to travel in convoys, ignoring all other traffic, hazards lights flashing and lights on with no way of showing other road users what they intend to do! and of course hogging the fast lane, until there is a problem, and the buses end veering every way as they are normally right close to each other.

I wonder why it is necessary to hold a conference in Khao Yai? Why not have conferences in Bangkok and let each individual arrange their own transportation to and from the venue? Was corruption discovered in the park that needed first hand inspection?
