Curfew planned for deep South

Air missions to support ground troop patrols

Authorities are planning to impose a curfew in the deep South to curb the escalating violence, amid mounting concerns over the impact it is having on the region's economy.

Defence Minister Sukumpol Suwanatat said the Internal Security Operations Command has been assigned to identify the specific areas to be affected by the curfew, with the help of the 4th Army Region.

The curfew plan is expected to be forwarded to the cabinet for consideration before being implemented, probably after the Muslim fasting month of Ramadan, the minister said.

"A time to love, And a time to hate; A time of war, And a time of peace." (Ecclesiastes 3:8)

"Righteous protects the innocent; wickedness is the downfall of sinners." (Proverb 13:6)

By the way, Proverbs 25:21-22 applies only to the terrorists in captivity, where Geneva Convention originated from. Hope these help!

This maybe a bit of the subject but i think it is important and i hope BP will post it.
In the negotiations that i believe must be going on, i hope it has not been forgotten by the Muslim rebels of the financial and employment opportunity's of A.S.E.A.N. in 2015. There are many Muslim countries in Asia that will be coming to Thailand for business and leisure purposes. The south of Thailand has some of the best beaches and attractions and so this is probably where they would like to go. The customers will mostly be Muslim i guess (cultural considerations) and so it will help to create employment opportunity's and greatly reduce poverty issues. So there is going to be big investment in hotels, retail outlets and business services. (IF THE FIGHTING STOPS).

Abbub D25: You make some good points and then you revert to some statement like " Gun ownership in the US is TWO guns for every television and radio in the country." The article is about steps to bring some semblance of sanity to the South. Has nothing to do with the US. I think it is pretty important, as poster Dao mentioned, to listen to what some of the recommendations are coming out of the South and listen clearly.

MUSASHI F19: In a sense I agree with you. I would though add there is no reason for police to carry guns either, and the laws must ASSURE the military can nor stage coups nor shoot on its own citizens.

In the US the reasoning behind the right to bear arms is to be able to confront the government should that government become oppressive. Of course it is oppressive and those bearing arms are often its supporters. Gun ownership in the US is TWO guns for every television and radio in the country.

And the harsher the laws the more desperate and ruthless the criminals get. For example someone on the run facing the death penalty is far more likely to commit more murder to evade those looking for him if he knows he himself will be killed once captured.

You are assuming a state which is just and respectful of all citizens, in an ideal society. In such a state there would be little crime. Most crime is poverty related. It is either out of extreme need or extreme greed.

What some people need is a "Brain in the Head", for endlessly calling for drones without considering the terrain in south Thailand. Drones are severely limited in their capability when you consider the dense vegetation that those insurgents hang out.

I missed the part where the governemnt asked the people of the south what they think .Its kind of important seeing as they probably understand why the violence is happening .Its like a doctor tryi g to cure the symptoms instead of figuring out what the disease is .

PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE I want to draw attention to SPICEMAN's comments:

SPICY D 17: 'We need to call on our best scientists and engineers to develop our own "Eye in the Sky, as well as, "Arial Sniper" drones, packed with all kinds of sensors to sneak in to catch these terrorists right in the acts and BLOW THEM UP TO PIECES.'

Then in answer to my quote from the Bible, after he quoted the Koran, he replies to me thus:

SPICY D20: "If your enemy is hungry, give him bread to eat, And if he is thirsty, give him water to drink." (Proverbs 25:21-22, the Old Testament)"

Gee I wonder which of those two comment SPICEMAN actually believes in? Offer his enemies bread and water, or as he writes is D17: "blow them up to pieces"

Will the real SPICEMAN please stand up...

SPICEMAN D20: Two can play your game of using quotes picked out according to wanting to use them for purposes of glorifying one side and demonizing the other. Here is a quote from the Koran:

"Righteous are those who...give money, cheerfully, to the relatives, the orphans, the needy, the traveling alien, the beggars, and to free the slaves...These are the truthful; these are the righteous." chapter 2 verse 177.

You are the only person I know who has ever written 'the children dying of starvation in Africa are suffering because they have not accepted "the one, true God"'.

    Khun Abbub #18:

"If your enemy is hungry, give him bread to eat, And if he is thirsty, give him water to drink; For so (doing) you will heap coals of fire on his head, And the LORD will reward you." (Proverbs 25:21-22, the Old Testament)

There is no reason for civilians and non-law enforcement personnel to own guns or explosives. These dangerous weapons should be outlawed. There is no need to even issue gun licenses.

Look at Singapore and Malaysia. If you are found with a bullet with no gun, you get the death penalty. If you own a gun with no bullet, you will also be hanged. If you have a gun and bullets, you know the answer. If you hold a sword, long knives, knuckle dusters.. you will be jailed even if you have not attacked anyone. There is absolutely no reason for people to own such weapons unless they have the intention to hurt someone else.

If guns are outlawed and strict enforcement of the law is carried out, we will see a reduction in violent crimes. We will see less southern violence, and less cases of students shooting each other.
