PAD plans mass rally if unity bills debated

Yellow shirts poised to raise stakes to oust govt

Shrugging aside the delays in considering reconciliation legislation, the anti-Thaksin People's Alliance for Democracy (PAD) is insisting it will stage a mass rally if the four bills are taken up for debate in the House.

The yellow-shirt group may raise the stakes at the rally to try to oust the Yingluck Shinawatra government, which is sponsoring the bills, in addition to legislators, said PAD co-leader Chamlong Srimuang.

"The best reconciliation is strict law enforcement for wrongdoers," Maj Gen Chamlong told a press conference at Ban Phra Arthit yesterday.

@ricefield #50, The PAD fell out of bed with the Dems a while back, hence the No Vote. As the saying goes 'Hell hath no fury like a woman scorned', both sides are still bitter against each other. Now the PAD is more isolated than ever.

This beyong the joke now. The pad (yellow shirts) are led by a man waitin to serve a long prison sentence. To threaten violence is so very very very bad. There is nothing wrong in a united Thailand, but the pad seem just to want to create trouble at every corner. I suggest that if they want a fight then they should either go to Syria or to Afghanistan. Enough is enough. Abhisit is quiet now. We all know why. Lets have a peacefull Thailand for once. The only people who want the trouble are the same ones as last time. Let them then be in the frontline.

"The best reconciliation is strict law enforcement for wrongdoers," I fully agreed to the literal meaning of it, regardless who said it, since it is a common sense, not a classic note. I hope the yellow shirt will hit the street to demand the harsh punishment to those who masterminded and staged the coup, who tore up the people's constitution, who seized the government house and the international airports, and who ordered and performed the deadly crackdowns on pro-democracy protesters, who caused the deaths of the foreign journalists, etc., as well. Besides, further to the saying quoted, the yellow shirt should also add that “no one in Thailand is above the law”. Otherwise, what the yellow shirt say and what they threat to do contradict each other again, just like what they have been doing for 7 years.

Disc 46 - The Democrat party put forward their ideas in the last election and they were soundly defeated. The PAD, on the other hand, didn't manage to put anything forward except a No vote campaign that didn't have any effect on the election whatsoever. Neither group comes close to representing a majority of the population even if they are lumped together.

Discussion 43. I guess you reflect the opinion of the majority of the voters form last election

Some people can not accept ademocratic vote if it don't go their way then just another coup with the years of set back for the ordinary citizen of Thailand

[Discussion 35 englishbob : here are answers to your assumption queries:
    1) Thaksin is politically persecuted thus leading to his conviction
    2) He is banned due to a prejudiced constitution amendment by the coup government
    3) How can Thaksin control PT by staying permanently in Dubai.]

Quote: "The yellow-shirt group may raise the stakes at the rally to try to oust the Yingluck Shinawatra government"
I think it is safe to say that this was the PAD and DP's primary intention since the last election day, and any other actions are only really a means to accomplish this. Being anti TS is only their rally cry....other wise I ask you what else do they have to rally behind?
I disagree with any action that leads to the take over of government by any means other than an election. If they have any proposals to lead the country they are surly welcome to present them at the next election campaign.

Prosecute this yellow PAD core member against treason and deport him out of thailand is a long term solution for reconciliation.

@khunbill #41: With Abhisit possible draft dodging 20 years ago comes to your mind and you are sure there is more dirt. How long do you think the list of Thaksin’s dirt is? I would have no problem to fill a whole page just from memory.
