US government laugh at a case where a person giving consent for his spouse to purchase land as required by law was convicted.

Thailand has nothing that the US needs, beyond widget made by low cost labor. This request was made simple to follow the rule of law. No US Representative could tell you with a straight face that this request will be honored.

Don't wait for revolution, there is no spring in Thailand : only summer, monsoon and winter.
Fruits, flowers and leaves on trees all the year : no automn, no spring...

America will intefere in two 'types' of countries. (a) Where the government in power is willing to make secret deals. (b) Where the people within the country are deeply almost fanatically, divided on important issues. Basically they exploit countries that are internally in chaos. Thailand in the past 5 to 7 years has started confirming to both these requirements. This is the TRUTH and nothing else will matter.

@Discussion 31 As distasteful as Thai corruption may be, it's a lot less dangerous and less annoying than the US Government's meddling in the affairs of other countries.

What do the Americans think this is? This is Thailand, OK, where corruption is as common as Buddhism!

The world is watching and evaluating Thailand's response to this issue. By ignoring it because the persons concerned are 'high society' will damage her reputation. We wouldn't be having this discussion if the Thais were not so influencal with friends in high places. Yet again, shame on the people who are behind this!
