Eurozone export losses B300-500bn

The damage on the country’s export sector caused by the eurozone debt crisis is 300-500 billion baht, the Economic and Business Forecasting Centre at the University of Thai Chamber of Commerce said.

Thanawat Ponwichai, the director of the centre, said on Thursday that the business sector is getting more worried about the continuing financial problems in Europe.

Vichai Assarasakorn, secretary general of the Thai Chamber of Commerce (TCC) and the Board of Trade of Thailand, said the TCC was concerned that the crisis would spread further and affect the Thai economy.

Finally, the thing we called "Reality" comes crashing down! So much for PTP's claim of 15% export growth for 2012-to Martians, may be!

When the clowns got together, they declared that the Euro zone problems would have negligible effect on Thailand.

Shows how much they know. It's what you get when the only interview question is "Will you do whatever I say without question". Works great for ramming bills through Parliament but not so good for the Thai economy.

"... believed that the government's 15-percent export growth target for 2012 will be achieved if new markets could be opened to offset the drop ..." ... there is that 'if' again, and 'if not'?
