Court delays bail decision on red bosses until Aug 22

The Criminal Court has postponed until Aug 22 its decision on whether to revoke the bail of 19 red-shirt leaders facing terrorism charges for allegedly violating their bail conditions.

The decision was made at the request of Yossawaris Chuklom, better known as Jeng Dokjik, one of the defendants.

He asked the court to examine whether a VCD submitted as additional evidence by Democrat Party MP Nipit Intarasombat for revocation of bail had been tampered with.

Disc. #10 "The rampant corruption and unacceptable behavior of Thaksin caused the coup in the first place" ------ No, it didn't. They have engaged in a huge propaganda campaign to try and validate their power grab. It was power-politics, not a matter of corruption. The only corruption was that Thaksin won too many election.

My opinion is that the courts are now too scared to come to any meaningful decisions.

    Disc#9: redview

No - you fail to recognise the core of it.

The rampant corruption and unacceptable behavior of Thaksin caused the coup in the first place.

I am neither red nor yellow shirt - but can see this clearly. The other thing I see clearly is how red-shirts focus on what suits them and ignore any facts which they don't like.

I agree with Isanfarang, we're entering in intimidation period. The justice is always postponing month after month too many cases. Two days ago Sondhi Limthongkul got 2 years for defaming case in 2007. Why it needs 5 years to confirm defamation ? The 2008 airport occupation by PAD is not yet tried. Now it's the never finish Red/UDD saga...
I'm thinking : are the Judges intimidated ? Are the Judges waiting for a reconciliation bill to close all the cases, then they could take some vacations on the beach or elsewher ?????

I agree with diss 1 but I disagree with the indifference people show toward this obviously warped mindset of lawlessness .It can only spiral downwards rapidly from here .

If there was an Olympic event for 'avoiding decisions' (a.k.a. vacillating), The C.Court would get the gold medal. PT politicians would get the silver, in lieu of 13 months to decide on NASA's request, and still no decision.

It tooks less than one month to indict and tried the two muderers of Australian woman in Phuket. Why it tooks so long time to stand trial for Red/UDD leaders who incited arsons, fire and other ill-intentioned actions ????

The court had no power yesterday against the mighty parliamentary immunity, they should have known this b4 wasting people's time.

    Another non-event.

Disc. 1 - I totally agree. The yellow group is not completely innocent, but the red shirts have always taken it well beyond acceptable behavior and that behavior has all too often been given way too much leniency (double standard?). And, in doing so, the authorities have given tacit approval for the excesses. If threats are being made almost publicly, one can imagine how many are made by the enforcement arm of the group and never heard by the general public.
