Are Uzi's on the list of discounted hand guns MP's ( and their staff) are allowed to buy for self protection. Surely this deserves some comment from BP investagators.

A world without guns would be a more peaceful place. No doubt about that! Anyone disagree?

I usually eat with knife and fork or a spoon. Never tried to do it with a gun... Seems not to be good for your stomach...

What the Senator says is true, every time I take my Uzi to the local restaurant I am always very careful as it can go off very easily. Likewise when I take my rocket launcher to the movies I always ensure the safety is on, same with my wife's grenade launcher and my toddler's Magnum, you need to be responsible and considerate of others.

Disc 6...I thought the right to bear arms was to deter the british from returning again, after all, there was no US army at the time.....but it's enshrined in law, and no congressman has the guts to amend it, so every now and then you get some crazy shooting his gun off, and God bless Amelica. Seriously though, are americans that scared of their military, and if so what happened to the land of the free? In Thailand there are so many crooks in politics and elsewhere they need guns to exist and to keep on being corrupt, but there is a little more to this incident than some whacko letting of steam and offing his secretary(?)

@Discussion 6, Spiceman. Guns don't kill people, I don't know. It's kind of hard to have a knife or baseball bat misfire in a restaurant and kill someone wouldn't you think?

Parliamentary privilege! What a farce. Let them say whet they like in parliament as few believe them anyway. Immediately they step out of parliament such privilege should cease and all should be treated in the same way as ordinary mortals although some would argue the punishment, if found guilty, should be more harsh due to the abuse of their elected and privileged positions.

Khun Musshashi #5, only if you can secure Thailand with the same Rules of Law, like in Singapore and Malaysia, which are relatively free of any corruption. Let me remind you that guns don't kill people but people do kill other people. So, the problem is not the guns themselves but the lawbreakers. And are you OK, with the Govt turning its own Military to kill its own people, like what is happening in Syria right now? This is the main reason why the US Constitution guarantees the right to bear arms, in order to prevent what is happening in Syria to happen in the USA. It is all about preserving, not the Govt, but liberty and freedom as guaranteed by the US Constitution. God bless the USA!

There is no reason for civilians and non-law enforcement personnel to own guns or explosives. These dangerous weapons should be outlawed. There is no need to even issue gun licenses.

Look at Singapore and Malaysia. If you are found with a bullet with no gun, you get the death penalty. If you own a gun with no bullet, you will also be hanged. If you have a gun and bullets, you know the answer. If you hold a sword, long knives, knuckle dusters.. you will be jailed even if you have not attacked anyone. There is absolutely no reason for people to own such weapons unless they have the intention to hurt someone else.

If guns are outlawed and strict enforcement of the law is carried out, we will see a reduction in violent crimes. We will see less southern violence, and less cases of students shooting each other.

What was he doing pulling out a gun at a restaurant? Was he pretending to be American? Or was he trying to gain face by showing he can pack heat? Either way, someone is dead because of stupidity.
