I am surprised there hasn't been a greater focus on the inadequacies of the fire service.
With all the money invested in that area and all the power happy people I find it incredible that it took almost an hour before they finally started to tackle the blaze.
A friend who was there described them as the fire service equidistant of the key stone cops.

I managed a building in the USA and the Fire Department were some of the most arrogant petty, rude and power crazed people I ever met, they seemed to pride themselves on finding something trivial they could to complain about, one even bragged about being an inspector 9 years and never failing to find a violation during an inspection. Then I come to Thailand and there either is no fire code or no one enforces it at all. Can't anyone strike a reasonable balance and provide reasonable safety without being officious?

The owners claim the damages number in the hundreds of millions of baht. Who are they kidding? This is Santika all over again. RIP ... and let us hope this is the last time such a needless disaster happens.

And no one talk about the safety measures in this place either, happened because of a lightning strike, such venues should have a lightning conductor!

And who is the owner of the club ? Have they been pulled in for questioning ? Have they been warned in the past about the lack of an adequate fire prevention system ? If not then why not ?

Another story with no mention that the Tiger Disco was illegally operating after closing hours.
