More charges weighed in road rage killing

NAKHON RATCHASIMA : The passengers in a Toyota Prado involved in an Aug 20 road rage incident in which an MP's son was killed will be summoned by police over possible attempted murder charges.

Pol Col Panu Buranasiri, deputy commander for investigation of Provincial Police Region 3, said the summons were likely to be issued next week.

The charge was being considered after Mun Poolsap, a 40-year-old building contractor, turned himself in to police to face charges in connection with the incident which resulted in a shoot-out.

The police have issued a number of completely contradicting statements, but one detail they have now repeated on two consecutive days: "No scapegoat has been arrested." You wouldn't say that if it was true, would you.

@ BP: It would be interesting if you could do some investigative journalism. This case is a typical example where you could score very high among your audience, because it smells worse than rotten eggs. You should at least confront the police with their stunningly contradicting statements.

The police still keep changing their story - yes, it is mainly their story.
"the witnesses gave inaccurate information about the vehicle involved in the shooting, which stalled the probe." Yesterday the police claimed they "intentionally released false information about the suspect's vehicle, saying it was a Mitsubishi Strada, so that the suspect would not be aware he was being tracked."
"It took us 10 days to solve the crime but the investigation isn't over," he said. False, it took a man 10 days to claim he was involved, but nothing has been solved, and all murder suspects are known but walk freely... Guess why.
"police have still not recovered Mr Mun's 9mm pistol" so he may not have thrown it away, have hidden it, can use it again. Neither did they recover the gun from the other suspects, allowing them to use it to solve this case extra-judicially?!

5555 The police claim to 'solve' the crime when the suspect turns himself in.
