Abac: Let Thaksin come back

A majority of people are of the opinion that former prime minister Thaksin Shinawatra should be allowed to return to the country to fight cases against him in court and that the government under Prime Minister Yingluck Shinawatra should be given a chance to continue to work, Abac Poll revealed on Sunday.

The poll was conducted between Sept 4-8 on 2,251 people aged 18 and up in Bangkok, Pathum Thani, Lop Buri, Ayutthaya, Chanthaburi, Nakhon Sawan, Phetchabun, Chiang Mai, Mukdahan, Nong Khai, Chaiyaphum, Khon Kaen, Surin, Udon Thani, Phatthalung, Surat Thani and Nakhon Si Thammarat provinces.

The majority, 83.6 per cent, said the Yingluck government should be given a chance to continue to work and 16.4 per cent said otherwise.

Disc 58 - No you are incorrect. Supreme court verdicts are not appealable which is exactly why the Supreme court took the case as apposed to the Administrative court which had jurisdiction.

Disc 54 - A legal parliamentary majority does not a dictatorship make and I don't believe that I ever even mentioned the word dictatorship. I use Junta when referring to the Coup makers which is much more accurate.

Mr. Thaksin Shinawatra always has been freed and allowed to come back for fighting his cases in Court.... while the previous Governement(s) too. Why should he come especially now while her sister is the Prime Minister of the country ? Didn't he want to fight his cases in Court before, under a Governement which was not on "his side" ? Amazing Thailand !

Nobody denied him the right, he did not appeal by himself.

It's very ironic that Ricefield talks about dictatorships changing laws - the very reason his role model Thaksin Shinawatra made it necessary to oust him from power via a military coup in the first place - and why his nepotistic-proxy party is making it necessary to do so again.

Clever but you don't get the cupie doll.

The majority of posters here would want Thaksin to come back and face justice, the same as the majority in this ridiculous poll (even allowing for those without the smarts to understand the ambiguous question).

In fact there is a similar mathematical match of for and against Thaksin in both the poll and this site. 19.7 v 80.3.
