Capital put on flood alert as heavy rains predicted

Nonthaburi and Pathum Thani residents severely hit by floods last year face the prospects of being battered by another deluge this year if there are torrential rains, Prime Minister Yingluck Shinawatra said yesterday.

Most of the people are not ignorant as you call them, more under educated due to a poor education which has failed Thailand as a whole.

If I look at these pictures (e.g. chatting on the river bank) I don’t see the people being much concerned more being used to and getting on with it; there are no rallies, no big groups of people complaining it’s just another day in Thailand.

Flooding again this year is the perfect scenario for PTP.
    1. they can make more promises(which they won't keep)
    2. They've already ask for another 300 billion baht to fix the flood the last money didn't fix. Another chance to stuff their pockets at the expense of the Thai people. And reds think that PTP cares about Thai people? LOL

Almost in every country in the world flooding is or was common some have more some less and every country is facing this for the same reason: Deforestation first of all, changing and correct the course of rivers and filling up waterways (klongs) etc.; however many countries are now correcting their mistake by reforestation etc. and countries were this is done show success; what about Thailand?

I guess PT supporters prefer to believe in a dream and be let down later. If dreams were that easily made, we would all be in heaven. The flooding problem is not just the PT's problem, but also all the different government department who did not follow building codes, citizens for littering and not keeping the environment clean.

@BKK-FARANG #22, (posting again in case it is too long). Simply put to answer your question, I thought about everyone, it is unfortunately the politicians who only think of themselves. Especially the uneducated because it is always easier to lie to the uneducated and ill informed than someone who will not always believe what they hear. As you said TIT. On the second note, it should be about leadership not colors. So what is your point?
