Every time that the law is clearly, publicly broken but there is no real punishment then our children being taught to believe that power, money and influence are more important than obeying the law. What moral lessons are given to the next generation of voters when politicians lie, when corruption flourishes, when the police regularly extort money from ordinary citizens when even the constitution can be overthrown?

So, change the law in order to be able to send corrupted civil servants in jail instead to move them to inactive positions in another province.
A theft stealing few thousand Baht will go to jail few months up to 3 years but a corrupted civil servants stealing by millions of Baht is just moved to another province....here is the injustice.

Easy to say, but so difficult to do.....corruption exist everywhere in the world, some places it is just called lobbyism .

Unfortunately what is said and promised is never realised when those that govern and rule illegitimately are giving the opposite example to Thai youth..you need extreme courage to fight against this very strong, brainwashed mob mentality. Integrity must start from the top, yet this is where the major problem of corruption has its origins. Its self defeating asking Thai youth to make promises they can't keep when puu yai expect them to toe their illegitimate line of control...Its shameful.

Unless the Thai people uprise like Egypt and Libya, a turn around is impossible as money is the only God in Thailand. Money is the route of all evil and there are simply too many Thai people with power hell-bent on destroying the nation while enriching themselves. Combine this massive corruption with lawlessness and the chances of a good man getting elected and not murdered by his political opponent with power and money are slim to none.

Indeed that is correct and enough statement from the statesman.

"I once said, in nationhood, a lot of good men have a place in which to stand, but a lot of evil people also have their places too. So our duty is to encourage upstanding citizens to replace BAD people so that they no more have a place in our society."

OT: the bloodless coup 2006 was necessary to because thailand is being hostage by a corrupt, greed, melagomaniac leader. But in the end, it get more worst after his guilty verdict. Evil as evil hiding in dubai.

I sincerely hope at some point, doubt it will be in my lifetime, that Thai people will rise up against the corruption in government. They need to learn they can gain more than the measly 5 or 10% that trickles down to the farmer because the other 95% is stolen by the corrupt. They need to learn that if they stop corruption, the nation as a whole will be better off. They need to learn that instant gratification of 500 baht to vote for a corrupt politician is nothing compared to the gain they might have from an honest politician.

As long as the Puea Thaksin regime remains in power our Kingdom will continue in a downward spiral of corruption and greed. The Thai people must stand up against their evil leader hiding in Dubai.

Teachers? Do me a favour. 74% of teachers still regularly hit kids. This has been illegal in Thailand for 6 years and kids know this. I don't want to get into the corporal punishment argument but if teachers break the law daily how can they ever be role models for Thai youth? Don't even get me started on the money scams most of them perpetuate too.

    Dao,
THIS government? Where have you been for the last fifty years? ALL Thai governments lack integrity; they are a reflection of their culture and history which emphasize appearance over internal values. Integrity is dong what's right when no one is looking, not saying what's expected when everyone is looking.
