UDD: TRC biased against Thaksin

The Truth for Reconciliation Commission (TRC) has not been impartial and its report on its findings on the 2010 riots is intended to help former prime minister Abhisit Vejjajiva and his former deputy Suthep Thaugsuban, according to red-shirt leader Tida Thawornseth.

Ms Tida, chair of the United Front for Democracy against Dictatorship (UDD), said she questioned the TRC's impartiality since it was established by the Abhisit government in 2010.

It was not believable that a government would set up a commission that would find it find fault with its own actions, she said.

" .. report of the Kanit commission would not lead to reconciliation, but only to MORE HATRED." Isn't that exactly what the red-shirts want: Since these red-shirts were invented there is hatred everywhere and everyday.
Of course they will not rest until every person on thai soil submits to there demands and red-ideology. Either you are with us or against us.
There are much worse things to come.

"It was not believable that a government would set up a commission that would find it find fault with its own actions, she said."

Indeed, that is because she has no idea how governments are supposed to work. It is well known that MIB and red guards were working together; furthermore, which not even she could deny, Seh Daeng was working for Thaksin.

The claim that the protests were peaceful shows her willingness to be blind. Mao would have been proud...

"peaceful struggle by the people", that's the way the former communist describes a mob terrorizing their own people.

I didn't understand why the TRC neglected to highlight the actual, true and real cause of the problem in the country and what must be done in order to acheive reconcilation. Thaksins presence or non presence will make no difference with reconcilation until the real causes are addressed. People like to use Thaksin for every excuse but the problems facing the country existed well before Thaksin ever arrived on the scene.

we all would of won that bet the Mrs Tida would not be happy about this report or any report coming to that

She is focused on one point only and thats to bring down Thailand as we know it today

I also think not all UDD or PTP support her as much as before

Thaksin is the cause of all problems today as he also only focuses on him self too

This woman is at her usual negative stance. Indeed national reconciliation will be too far-fetched at this stage or in years to come. So sad state of affairs for Thailand - the country I have learned to love ...

The current problem is that when a report or a judgement is in a favor of one side, the other immediately claims that it is biased and partial.
Neutral international investigations is a solution. The reds shirts have asked it from the beginning, the Abhisit administration always refused. As they refused International observers in the Phrea Vihear issue. It is simple : they always pretend to be the innocent victims but they never accept witnesses or investigations when it is not their own and when they are not ruling the government ....

Ms. Tida knew all the details about the TRC and it's members before the report was final. How come she waited until now to complain?
If you know a referee in a game is impartial, then you should complain before the game starts, not after you have lost - that just makes you a bad loser!

I notice she managed once again to call the 2010 riot a "peaceful struggle by the people". Would not want to see her version of a violent struggle then :-)
