DSI denies targeting Abhisit, Suthep

The Department of Special Investigation is only performing its duty as a law enforcement agency and has not targeted former prime minister Abhisit Vejjajiva and his deputy Suthep Thaugsuban for premeditated murder charges as alleged, DSI chief Tarit Pengdit said on Thursday.

Mr Tarit said the DSI is a law enforcement agency. Once legal cases in connection with the United Front for Democracy against Dictatorship (UDD) protests are categorised as special cases the DSI is duty-bound to proceed with legal action against all sides in the conflict.

A total of 213 cases have been filed against UDD members. They include 64 terrorism cases, 62 arson cases and 87 other related cases, he said.

if they find that Abhisit Vejjajiva and his deputy Suthep Thaugsuban were to blame as there were the head of the agent for the crack down then its only fitting that all the UDD leaders be blame for the burning down of Bangkok as the leader of the Red Shirts right

Why is it relevant to anything that Phan Khamkong ( the victim) was identified as a UDD supporter if as reported he was just walking along and was shot by accident.

880 days past since April 10, 2010. What is the rsult ?
And how is the investigation going on armed 'men in black' that appeared on April 10, 2010, and killed soldiers ?
When the DSI is not able to find out the truth or is blocked from finding out the truth. Then this useless Gov. agency should be colsed immediately.

Did Tarit read the part of the TRC report mentioning that the 'men in black' were linked to the Red Shirts??...may be he has skipped that part..

Very well explained and very believable. Of course those responsible do not like to be held responsible.

“Mr Tarit said he personally felt that all sides involved must share the responsibility for the losses and damage.”

If Mr. Tarit is unable to see the reasons why the red shirts demonstrators must be dispersed, and also, if Mr. Tarit is unable to see who radio-controls the UDD, them he has to be fired.

Khun Tarit should save his breath.

We all follow the news and it doesn't take a genius to work out what is going on.

It's clear from the TRC that government action was provoked by the armed red-shirt terrorists : why aren't they the main focus of this investigation ?.

  • Discussion 3 : 20 Sep 2012 at 16.323

Mr. Tarit says that 213 cases have been filed against UDD members. But how many have been filed since the UDD government came to power? And if Mr. Tarit is not persecuting Abhisit and Suthep on behalf of his new "masters" in government, then why would he make a statement to the press, as he did this week, that Abhisit and Suthep are liable to be charged with premeditated murder? It takes more than ordering troops on the street for someone to be charged with premeditated murder. That would require an order telling troops to kill protesters. Well, where is that order, Khun Tarit? It has not been produced because it does not exist. Learn the law before making legal pronouncements.
