The minister for transport should be the one to take the blame for allowing U turns knowing how dangerous they are and doing nothing . He has the authority to make changes by closing them and replacing them with a more safe method.Roundabouts, traffic lights, better run offs and wider, longer deceleration lanes, acceleration lanes. Tragic lights to do a u turn go to a reservation on the left.the lights go on stop.you then cross to the opposite carriage way its done all over Europe.Pity the holiday crowed whilst over there did not look at the idea and bring back the suggestion.

Exactly the same thing happened a week or so ago, except then the lorry driver fled the scene. U-turns are dangerous, period, but that is the way all roads in Thailand are designed. Even in Bangkok, where being able to do a simple right turn, common in other countries, isn't allowed. Every U-turn is an accident waiting to happen.

The trailer truck is TOO large enough to be seen from far away when it gets a U-Turn..
While Pick up truck driver could possibly noticed it from far distance and he should slow down, whilst he should be responsible and be charge.

Dead person cant be charge(of course theyre dead)..so the alive person should be blame. what an ironic

Another senseless U-turn accidents involving large wheeler trucks ! The traffic authority must imposed a total ban on multi wheelers truck and buses on all U-turn and select and design suitable U-turn or bridge with enough space and warning to do a save turn. Drivers of large truck tends to ignore safety of other cars when negotiating turns and expect cars to give way to them. This not only dangerous, it also hinder traffic flow causing traffic jams.

Why would the police charge Somchai with reckless driving when it is clear that the pick up was speeding. Making a U-turn with a 22-wheeler is extremely difficult, especially on roads such as Phetkasem where most vehicles are driving over the speed limit.
The pick up went completely under (the middle of) the trailer which means that Somchai and his truck were already on the road. The pick up driver should have had enough time to slow down and stop unless he was speeding.
