Reds, Yellows clash UPDATE pix

BANGKOK - Yellow-shirt and red-shirt supporters on Tuesday confronted and taunted each other outside the Crime Suppression Division (CSD) offices on Phahon Yothin road.

The rival protesters gathered after police summoned for questioning a former female teacher who publicly accused red-shirt key supporter Darunee Kritbunyalai of defaming the royal institution last month.

Bangkok Post reporter Voranai Vanijaka, who was at the rally scene, said there were nearly 200 red-shirts and about 50 yellow-shirts gathering outside the compound. Many of them appeared to be over 40 years old.

In one of the above pictures, there is an elite looking farang wearing a pink ribbon on his forehead, a pink long sleeve shirt and a pink neck tie amongst the yellow crowd in one of the above pictures. He has violated the condition of staying in thailand as stipulated in his visa. He is not allowed to participate in any demonstration during his stay in thailand.

    To all:
What I am saying is that the yellow shirts should be more clever than the reds. In doing the same things as the reds they actually are the same as them. So, if they claim to be more clever they should be also more clever. What sense does it have to go and protest in front of a court? I don't see any reason else than to go and cause troubles and afterwards shout out loud and act as the victim.
Stubbornness is a way of auto-destruction, and if any of you guys give just a little bit about the country you should not cheer and support such a way of behavior and thinking. Otherwise Thailand will slowly but steady slip into a path of no return. Violence is not a way of solving disagreements, especially not within one people, one nation.

Thank you disc#10. You make me understand clearly what the democracy of the red means.

Deki #10, did you bother to read the article? The yellow shirts were outnumbered (according to this article) while the red shirts continued to be vulgar, taunting and attempted to cross lines at different times. Even though the red shirts feel they have a monopoly on protests and assembly, the truth is, they don't. Had the reds not provoked (again, how many times have the reds provoked others) the peaceful yellow shirts, none of this may have happened.

Discussion 9, after the red terror in Pattaya, in Bangkok, last Sunday in Ubon, in the provinces and today you think Meme has crossed the line ??? Please take off your red glasses, they are blinding the sad truth from your eyes......

deki D10: have you lost your mind? The yellows have exactly the same rights as the reds. Got it?

  • Discussion 13 : 25 Sep 2012 at 18.2513

There were approximately 50 yellow shirts at CSD, but that depends on where you get your news from because reds reported 200 to 500 yellow shirts. I won't get into how many red shirts there were, but go and look at the pictures from different sources and you see those mysterious men in black again, I didn't know we had ninjas in Thailand too.

Disc10 - Deki - What are you saying? That Red Shirts can protest but Yellow shirts can't?

What kind of twisted logic is that? From the article, it appears the Red Shirts were the aggressors. Do I hear a murmur of condemnation? No? Thought not.

Thanks BP for showing us one of the most illustrative pictures of the typical redshirt housewife, peaceful, educated and friendly...with the middle finger. And sad to say... she is probably still one of the most peaceful of the reds.....
