@Disc 4 - I am in the manufacturing field and I know quite well about exports. Thailand's manufacturing exports mostly end products! Just to name a few, nikon cameras, LG/Samsung lcd tv, Toshiba/Western Digital hard drives, Gap/Old Navy clothing, wooden toys, furniture, sporting goods, and many more. I doubt you know anything about Thai exports by saying Thailand doesn't produce a lot of end products. A lot of those products have seasonal sales and sale quantities to reach for each season.

Christmas products are normally ship in September and October so they don't keep stock in the warehouse. New Years is also a very big sale season, as people shop right after Christmas so demand for products are high.

@ banmebkk, I seriously doubt your prediction (it's not a forecast) is accurate. Thailand doesn't produce a lot of end products, thus exports for X-mas related items are shipped since long. More important however is that exports very likely will show a dramatic increase compared year-on-year in the next quarter, due to the huge drop last year (floods).
@ khunbj: exporters who depend on government support are not entrepreneurs, nor viable. For every baht of trade deficit, there is trade surplus. Real entrepreneurs are profitable DESPITE, and not thanks to the government

In the Uk they just had the highest monthly deficit in 15 years, up to 4,4 Bln GBP or 220 Bln THB, exporters demand more Government support with finance insurance etc, maybe the Government here should consider action in this area as well.

Exports will continue to drop till end of the year. It should be the busiest time of the year for export as they prepare shipments for Christmas sales world wide and next years order. But since its already in decline, it show the global demand is very weak.

"The main reason behind the drop in exports is the sluggish global economy brought by the eurozone crisis." Why not add: "according to the Commerce Ministry". Car exports are probably affected by very strong domestic demand and another major factor could be the botched rice scheme. Why only report the propaganda you are offered. What is stopping the media from doing journalism. Could it be due to the same lack of expertise that is plaguing the bureaucrats?
