Protest Thursday outside US embassy

The US embassy in Bangkok issued a security warning on Wednesday that a demonstration is expected on the road outside the embassy on Thursday morning.

The advisory said Thai police had advised them that a demonstration involving several hundred people was  planned on Witthayu Road in front of the embassy on Sept 27, beginning at 10am.

Although the demonstration was not expected to be violent, it could cause traffic disruptions in the area. The embassy would  remain open for consular service appointments.
