Sondhi acquitted of lese majeste

The Criminal Court on Wednesday dismissed a charge of lese majeste brought against yellow-shirt co-leader Sondhi Limthongkul.

The charge was brought against him after he demanded that law enforcement agencies prosecute a woman accused of anti-monarchist activities and disseminated part of her speech at a yellow-shirt rally to support his demand.

The court ruled that Sondhi had no intention of violating the law in his 2008 comments and dismissed the charge.

Johninbkk : Just checked again, the AV government dropped a civil suit in Jan 2009 against PAD for damages amounting to 18mill THB at Government House, with the reasoning that : "the troubles were over" wonder who paid the bills then (:...other agencies like the NSC in the same compound did not claim for damages ? However the criminal charges the Government could not remove so they should still be there, including Government House , Airports etc .

"The court ruled that Sondhi had no intention of violating the law in his 2008 comments and dismissed the charge."
Ah, ok. It was an 'honest mistake'.

khunbj 1 - The Government House destruction charges against the PAD were dropped when the Dems took power in 2008.

bammebkk "This guys needs to go to jail! Most of the politicians in the 50s and 60s are too corrupted" From which political party is Sondhi a politician?

What has the moderator against this comment is unclear unless the moderator is biased as I suspect. Changed shifts again is also obvious. I will make a point of it to investigate this deplorable situation, as I have access to the post.

Discussion3. If Thailand wants peace for the future then everybody from all sides needs to stand trial and serve their penalty.
The dems got a lot of grief for making someone who spoke on stage a couple of times a minister and rightfully so.
PTP however have made ministers of people who called for Bangkok to be burnt to the ground, and still the reds on here defend them. That is what is the most sickening in my mind.

At least Khun Sondhi is facing the justice here in our Kingdom instead of running away hiding.

This guys needs to go to jail! Most of the politicians in the 50s and 60s are too corrupted. The newer generation such as Abhisit and YS are bit better. I hope by another decade or so, the government can really clean up their act and have more transparency and stop wasting tax payers money.

BP forgot to add that he was also convicted at the Courts of appeal for libel against Noppadon Pattama. And still not convicted or for that matter still charged with inciting unrest, occupying and destroying Government House, occupying 3 airports and whatever else he was involved in.
