Thai-Saudi ministerial meet cracks ice

Thailand is optimistic about improving ties with Saudi Arabia after the first official meeting at a ministerial level in two decades.

Foreign Minister Surapong Tovichakchaikul held talks with Saudi Arabia's Deputy Foreign Minister Prince Abdulaziz bin Abdullah bin Abdulaziz on the sidelines of the United Nations General Assembly in New York on Tuesday.

I believe it helped when YC's wife gave back the blue stones that she was pictured wearing at some hi-so bash a few years ago.

Google "The Blue Diamond Case" and read it in depth. I'm amazed Saudi Arabia would want anything to do with Thailand. Theft, denial, fake jewels offered in return, corruption, unsolved multiple murders and relationship at the lowest diplomatic level for more than 20 years. Saudi Arabia did absolutely nothing wrong or improper. This is a prime example of the lengths Thailand’s governments will go to 'save face". Pathetic!

"Thailand is optimistic" is not news it is only PR, what would be news is to know what the Saudis think or to hear what, if any, progress has really been made.
