Estate floods as dyke gives way

Part of a soil dyke at Lat Krabang Industrial Estate in eastern Bangkok broke yesterday, causing the estate to flood.

Water flowing from Khlong Lam Taeng Mo caused flooding of 30cm to 50cm in some parts of the estate last night after about five metres of the dyke ruptured.

The abrupt floods forced some factories to shut down their operations.

Fora country that has over the years a surfeit of rain the management of water is by far the seemingly beyond the grasp of tthis country, all they do is complain too much rain, bad dykes, bad drainage, corruption on a vast scale, yet they do nothing. To many agencies, too much corruption and what does Thailand face, fiasco after fiasco due to managerial incompetence on a staggering scale.
