iPhone 5 in Thai stores this month

Apple's iPhone 5 is likely to hit stores in Thailand by the end of this month, according to the National Broadcasting and Telecommunications Commission (NBTC).

The NBTC reported on Wednesday that it has approved Apple Inc's request to sell its new iPhone 5 smartphone in the country.

Prices of iPhone 5 should be close to iPhone 4s prices at 22,000 baht for 16 gigabytes, 26,000 baht for 32gb and 30,000 baht for 64gb, the NBTC said.

Wow!!! that's much more faster as I anticipated! Previous releases had been 2 to 3 months after the official US release! What a shrewed move by Apple taking the Wind of the Sails from Grey Imports who charge waaayyyy expensive prices for iPhones!.
Nice! when I'm back in from my extensive stint abroad I would immediately go for an iPhone Cinco!

Apple has really sold the world a bill of goods. Every 6 months or so it comes up with a new phone and everyone has to have it. I have to agree with D#5 that for $1,000 USD in a country without 3G this puppy better cook and clean my house. And then you see every Thai HiSo kid with one and all they do is SMS their friends or play Angry Birds, that is when they aren't taking pictures with their iPads! Yes, the world has gone mad!
