Gaemi loses her bite, but flood preparations continue

Science and Technology Minister Plodprasop Suraswadi yesterday warned of a storm surge, especially in Phetchaburi, as Gaemi triggered heavy rainfall in some eastern provinces.

Mr Plodprasop's storm surge prediction, however, has been downplayed by the Meteorological Department and a natural disaster expert, who said that a surge was unlikely.

Interesting. It is really important that we are prepared for calamities and floods for us to prevent such deaths.

Now that the worst has not come to pass ... how will the PTP government replenish the reservoirs that they hastily drained down in panic mode? Will the farmers have enough irrigation water for their needs? The northern rainy season is winding down and unless another tropical storm comes along and actually does rain bucket loads, there will not be much coming in to refill those reservoirs.
