Mobile phone ban at Defence Ministry

A ban on weapons and mobile phones has been imposed at the Defence Ministry for security reasons, a source said Monday.

All military officers and visitors entering the office of the defence minister are required to leave their weapons and mobile phones outside.

During the Defence Council meeting on Oct 4 telephone signals at the Defence Ministry were jammed as a security measure which has long been in place.

So, not actually a security issue then? Rather to stop their statements being recorded. Funny!

Doesn't this underscore why the South is such as mess. Has Sukhumpol never heard of recording pens, button hole cameras etc.

D1 is right, any other country would block signals to reduce the death toll but the Defense Minister blocks signals in his own building simply to save his face.

If Sukhumpol cannot control his own "house" what chance does he have controlling the country.
