Airport cop slaps THAI staffer

A policeman was detained, and then later let go, at Suvarnabhumi International Airport for slapping a female airline employee on Thursday.

Airport police received a complaint that a woman working at the Thai Airways International service counter had been attacked by a man.

The victim, whose name was withheld,  told police it was the second time the man had attacked her at the airport. She said he was her ex-boyfriend.

Correct me if I am wrong but according to many TV programs slapping is standard practice. When so much violence shown on TV is there any wonder this occurred. It seem for a male to slap a female is OK. Goodness knows what the next generation will turn out like.

Another case of not inforcing the law. Thailand continues to sink into a lawless, corrupt abyss.

Not only should this "cop" face assault charges and be fired. His collegues, who covers him, should face similar charges and be fired too.
However, this will be swept under the carpet like all the other unjust violent episodes we've seen lately.

So.. It's ok for a policeman to hit a woman, provided that he knows them? This is exactly what is so wrong with Thailand. His senior officer should be sacked along with this poor specimen of a human.

She said he was her ex-boyfriend. Airport police said it was a personal matter.

Yeah yeah, but that is a disgraceful by an ex-bf. Its a public humiliation while a work.
This police officer should be fired or suspended, though its a personal matter, but he shouldnt do it while in public airport that would avoid bad reputation to police airport.

Fighting in an airport is not a personal matter .Slapping a woman is disgusting .Maybe if Dramas didn't show this along with all other kinds of poor behavior people wouldn't feel its normal behavior .It isn't .

A domestic incident : if she doesn't wish to press charges then they should sort it out.

Unlike the arrogant official who slapped the staff. Did anybody find out what happened to him ?.

In the real world, he would have been instantly dismissed and possibly prosecuted. I bet he is still sat in the same chair in Thailand.
