Poll: Yingluck has stronger leadership

If an election was held today a majority of people would vote for the Pheu Thai Party while Prime Minister Yingluck Shinawatra was said to show stronger leadership, according to the results of an Abac Poll revealed on Sunday.

The poll was conducted on 2,184 people, aged 18 and up, between Oct 1 and 13 in Bangkok, Chai Nat, Saraburi, Ayutthaya, Nakhon Pathom, Samut Prakan, Phayao, Phitsanulok, Chiang Mai, Amnat Charoen, Maha Sarakham, Sakon Nakhon, Nakhon Ratchasima, Udon Thani, Khon Kaen, Chumphon and Songkhla.

Yingluck Shinawatra is an empty suit - a place holder who makes not a single decision on her own, except perhaps what shoes she wears, and even that might be up to one of Thaksin's PR managers. She was elected solely because of her last name, which considering some of the undertones from UDD, is quite ironic. She represents all that is wrong with elitism and government, while highlighting the fatal flaws of "democracy."

D19 Just a modification of the "Abhisit" model. The big difference is that the Yingluck model actually can win an election.

She now has some political experience: 99.9%

What we are seeing here is a new model of political leadership here in Thailand (used elsewhere previously) where a 'soft' leader is put forward to the people, with feminine traits, good ribbon cutting ability, zero baggage, photogenic, never utters a controversial word, promises to 'appoint a committee to look into', while the dirty players and spin masters get to work in the background. It's darned brilliant, she could become the longest serving PM ever at this rate, if you are like most Thais and favour appearance over substance what's there to not like about her.

Seems to be working, Puea Thai garnered 42% of the vote numbers last election, new poll suggests 52%, bring on the populist handouts, the 80% of the population who don't have to pay the taxes are giving it the thumbs up.

I suppose voting for Yingluck just because she's Thaksin's sister makes someone a "lemming" but voting against her just because she's Thaksin's sister makes someone a "lemming" too. Despite her lack of experience she hasn't done a bad job and she's probably just the type of person Thailand needs now to be PM. Besides the military prefers a "weak" PM anyway - that's why they strong armed the coalition parties to vote for Abhisit in 2008.

Name a single policy that Peua Thai implemented that has been a success during the past 14 months... I double dare you.

I could start by saying the war on drugs. The headlines are full of stories but since these stories have nothing bad to say about Thaksin you Dems will not understand them.

Your hatered for one man is mentally disturbing at least. Thailand is full of corruption and you all insist onely on man is corrupt.

If this were an accurate poll, I'd be as worried as Thais are of ghosts. The truth is she has good ‘handlers’ who know when it’s time for her to take another road-trip, delegate, point and smile or “shrug it off”. Though they may not want it to be true, people must know that her loyalties are with the Shinawatra clan and dear brother who put her where she is. Do people honestly think that she would act against the wishes of Thaksin and the family? Please! She’s the lead lemming remotely controlled by the Shinawatras and as one of the rare truths Thaksin has said,”She’s my clone”! Yes she is, and she is not a clone that has come into her own.
