One minute you've got the Peua Thai's red shirt lackeys on stage complaining about military involvement in politics, next minute they're having a ceremonious welcoming of a 23 high ranking army officers into their party, including the former police chief, when most of us still clearly remember how 'tomato' the police were in 2010, not withstanding the fact that he's a relative of the ruling dynasty. There's more MPs with police or army rank in Puea Thai than all the other parties put together, It's chilling. Consolidating power? Fascism comes to mind, as long as you can keep spending tax payers money to buy enough rice growing votes to stay firmly in power, you can call it a democracy.

Seems like PT is a party for retired army and police top brass. Goodby democracy, welcome facism. Poor Thailand.

Everybody gets retired. Police, Military, any other officials, employees of companies, all reach an age where they have either worked enough or can't work enough anymore. Only in politics one has no expirey date. How can a country go forward when its leadership positions are filled with fossiles?

"23 new members who were Class 10 graduates of the Armed Forces Academies Preparatory School.
They include Adm Rungrat Boonyarattaphan, former defence permanent secretary, Gen Apichart Timsuwan, former director of the National Defence Industry and Energy Centre, Gen Sahachart Pipitkul, former chief of the army's Medical Department, and Pol Lt-Gen Thanakorn Siri-ath, former chief of the Special Branch."

Hey, Red Shirt fans... Tell me again how the Dems are the party of the military... LMAO that you really believed the marketing tricks of Peua Thai.

It's disheartening to see so many retired army and police generals go into politics after retiring. It's no secret that many generals, police and army, buy and sell promotions and finish their careers unusually wealthy. Thailand's democratic future looks very bleak with all of these generals who've spent their entire careers in non-democratic institutions. Thai people deserve better than that.

Consolidating the dictatorship with more unusually wealthy high-rank military and police. I would love to see an asset declaration from these guys. How many hundreds of millions are they worth?
