Disabled beggar attacked by BTS security

Photos of a disabled man being attacked by a security guard at a BTS skytrain station have sparked an uproar from Thai netizens after circulating on social networks.

An anonymous poster, whose friend witnessed the brutal treatment of the man, uploaded the photos on Pantip.com. The poster claimed that the unnamed victim was attacked by a security guard at National Stadium station for being too slow when asked to leave the platform.

“My friend saw a security guard banging his stick on the rail of the stairs and yelling at the man to get out of the station,” said the post on Pantip.com.

Why not just call the police to remove the beggar, simple as that. Oh wait, the police is useless in this country. We have the red guard, yellow guard to protect us and enforce the laws. Nonetheless beating someone is never the solution.

excuse my blunt comparising by no means i compare human with animals.......but
my dog is trained to bark when strangers approach my premis.
When he does, he gets rewarded.we even could train him to run to the gate and stop right there without scaring people.
He is our best friend, yet yesterday i reprimended him for attacking a "lost" squerl. while mistaking it for a rat.
If he catch a rat he gets rewarded.
    moral of this story?
    perspective please!!!

Compassion without brain will get people in trouble or even kill. This security guard should be commended in doing his job seriously.

Would you like to be in an accident at the BTS station by tripping over the beggar who crawls around the station making good money without paying taxes. With a bit of bad luck, one who tripped over the beggar could unfortunately fall onto the track and killed by the oncoming train or electrocute.

Once you are dead, the good security guard would be sacked and his family would suffer also. There are enough evidences from many posters strongly indicated that the beggar has been at the BTS station for quite awhile which means that he has been breaking the rules and regulations for the safety of the commuters, putting their life at risk!

Being a disabled doesn't automatically allow one to put others at risk just because he wants to make money while paying no taxes.

Anyone who really feels sorry for the beggar should set up a trust fund for him and stop him from putting other people life in danger, especially the security guard. A good idea, yes?

Yes, this man is a cripple. Now he will probably find it more difficult to get the small amount of money needed to fill his stomach. That security guard is heartless and should be charged with assault or grievous bodily harm.
I wish the cripple had the means to sue him.

Why did the guard not attack the mafia who employ those poor buggers ?

  • Discussion 8 : 15 Oct 2012 at 20.368

I think we can accept that this one is indeed crippled.

D#5 I have been to the station many times and seen this crippled man. Open your eyes and look closely at his photo and then tell me once again about 'appearing to be crippled but not being crippled.' Yes it is time to wake up now on this one.

I wonder if it was the same guard that got into a fight with the English Teacher and daughter's balloon? Seems BTS security have chips on their shoulders. I cant stand it either when the guards blast their wistles on the platform for no apparent reason too.

I do not promote violence, but having lived here for 18 years and having seen 'beggars' who appear to be crippled but who are actually not, my first question is why were they there? It is private property and forbidden to be there, just like in Paragon or Central. Hope they can be more tolerant as they do their jobs...

Its not the first person attacked by those security guards!

Although I fully understand that those guards must do their job - which is often not that easy; but to attack a crippled person like this is disgusting!

I have yet to see someone who is more cruel to weak Thai people then Thai people themselves!
