More help for kids with learning disabilities

Efforts to identify Thailand's estimated 4 million children with learning disabilities (LD) and assist their education have been boosted by a state agency project.

The six-month project, which began in July and will run until December, is being run by the Quality Learning Foundation (QLF), a state agency set up by the Prime Minister's Office to promote children's learning and development and encourage education reform.

Amornwich Nakornthap, a QLF technical adviser, said early detection of children with LD is crucial in helping them quickly adjust their learning skills.
