UDD: Pitak Siam has right to rally

The Pitak Siam (Protecting Siam) group has the constitutional right to hold a mass rally against the government, Deputy Agriculture and Cooperatives Minister Nattawut Saikuar said on Wednesday.

Mr Nathawut was responding to reports that the group led by Gen Boonlert Kaewprasit plans a mass anti-government rally on Oct 28.

The group has the legal right to protest as long as its activities remain within the law, the co-leader of the red-shirt United Front for Democracy against Dictatorship (UDD) said.

If you are peaceful you can occupy the streets and throw your own party. What kind of law is that?

Really, some talk about "educated" to say "brainwashed". It make me laugh, a pro-dictatorship is certainly not educated. Formated, OK... Hatred populist, certainly... and surely without soul and without respect for his/her country.

"The group has the legal right to protest as long as its activities remain within the law, the co-leader of the red-shirt United Front for Democracy against Dictatorship (UDD) said." Look who is talking.

What exactly does protesting accomplish in Thailand? Nothing.

"The group has the legal right to protest as long as its activities remain within the law," And this comes out of Nathawut's mouth? Short and selective memory problems I guess.

Boonlert may be a good person but as soon as he opened his mouth to say the word "coup", he already shot himself in the foot. As junior officer, he took part in the 1977 abortive coup where the coup leader Gen. Chalard Hiransiri was finally captured and executed. It is a pity Boonlert doesn't learn the lesson and is even ready to repeat the mistake.

"The group has the legal right to protest as long as its activities remain within the law, the co-leader of the red-shirt United Front for Democracy against Dictatorship (UDD) said."

That would naturally mean the group has every legal right to hold the rally at Ratchaprasong for an extended period of lets say, 2 months. That would also include blocking roads and malls. What's good for one group is good for the other. No double standards.
