Rally begins at RTC

Today's rally at the Royal Turf Club, or the Nang Loeng racecourse, will not drag on beyond 5.30pm, Gen Boonlert Kaewprasit said on Sunday morning.

Speaking in an interview with the Nation Channel, Gen Boonlert, also known as Seh Ai, reaffirmed that the intentions of organising the rally were to attack the government for allowing people to insult the monarchy without taking action against them, for being a nominee of deposed prime minister Thaksin Shinawatra, and for corrupt practices, particularly involving the rice-pledging scheme.

Asked to comment on the result of an opinion poll which indicated that he did not have enough reasons to justify holding the rally, Gen Boonlert said he was not worried, claiming that he had received a lot of phone calls giving him moral support.

#3 - doing the right thing is rarely popular. The popular thing is usually the easiest option, with the least amount of thought or effort required, and generally involves the infinite folly of shortsightedness and instant gratification, incurring devastating catastrophe down the road.

Yesterday I saw many red shirts driving around in pickups trucks waving tier flags in Ratchaprasong area. Was there a red shirt rally or were they just trying to make a presence felt in the area before this rally?

It is fact that people need to wake up to what is happening in the country especially with the corruption allegations and now the nepotism in parliament. If this raley dose only that then it can be deemed to have been a success.

its good to know that other groups in society are also concerned of the unethical standards of this vote buying regime run by a convicted criminal ,who have many warrants for his arrest in conection with corruption, besides 30% of the population backing this regime, the other 70% made up of all different colors disapprove,of the running of the country ,l hope the police will behave and go about their duties in a peaceful manner ,going by recent events where police are killing each other and drug running,is not a good sign of law and order
