Reds ready to counter Pitak Siam

Korkaew says anti-govt rally has Democrat links

Red-shirt supporters from 20 provinces in the Northeast are ready to counter any further rallies led by the Pitak Siam group, Udon Thani red leader Kwanchai Praipana says.

He made the statement in Nakhon Ratchasima yesterday in response to a plan by the Pitak Siam group to hold its next rally against the Pheu Thai Party-led government within a month following Sunday's gathering at the Royal Turf Club in Nang Loeng district of the capital which the rally organiser claimed drew around 20,000 participants.

Gen Boonlert Kaewprasit, a retired officer and the core organiser, believes the campaign is gaining momentum.

This would also indicate the opposition has no faith in the censor motion made to target the PM next month. Rather than allowing the democratic process to work, let’s rally against the government. The opposition is very easy to see through! Some will say the opposition does not have the votes to bring down the government. Well, seems to me there is a reason for this.

Real owner of the royal turf club must be very happy to see the rally on sunday. He's the real one behind this topple the government over plot.

Gen Prayuth:"Without a reason, it [a coup] can't be done." Well the general has answered our questions, the bad guys are trying to find reasons to stage a coup.

The PT-government has shown its willingness to bridge the differences between the Thai oligarchy and the people. Like a tree that does not like to bend in the wind, the establishment may soon find themselves uprooted if they decide to burn that bridge by staging yet another coup. The wind of change is here, no longer will the masses want to eat crumbs dropped from tables. Electoral politics is here to stay.

A very peaceful rally and the UDD is getting uptight already. Wasn't one of the red shirts battle cry for democracy and freedom, which includes freedom of a peaceful assembly, or do the reds feel they have a monopoly on rally and protests?
Rather strange how Korkeaw has suddenly become an expert on vices. This is the second time he's used the word, yet nary a word about Chalerm's meeting with Gen Boonlert Kaewprasit where photos showed Chalerm with a nice big glass of wine in his hand. I suppose alcohol isn't really a vice and of no concern.

Somebody or some puppet masters on both sides, please call a stop on this circus. We have enough challenge in the street already. We don't need any more rally.

Millions of middle class Thais and taxpayers are fed up with this proxy - government, this huge corruption and blundering of this country. They want to stop this and were just waiting for leaders who stand up against this government and start a movement they can join. The first gathering was a test for both the leaders and the middle class. Confidence is needed to gain steam and to draw more people to this movement. With about 30,000 supporters, mostly middle class and taxpayers, this first gathering was successful and the organizers and leaders gained the necessary confidence to continue. Much more people as well as yellow shirts and Democra

"Red-shirt supporters from 20 provinces in the Northeast are ready to counter any further rallies led by the Pitak Siam group, Udon Thani red leader Kwanchai Praipana says."

Translation - Reds have run out of money from the previous rallies, didn't get enough money from the rice "scheme" and need more money. What do the reds continue to have against peaceful, lawful rallies?

Tell me again, what are these coloured groups actually rallying for? Now there's 'blue shirt' group. This is more and more becoming like a primary school tit for tat. I thought Thai television dramas were outlandish. Its a total circus. Bring on the clowns...

Funny. 2 days ago the government ridiculed the Pitak Siam for holding the rally and dismissed it as a waste of time. Now,Kwanchai and his red thugs are up in arms,Chalerm is telling police to check video's and Korkaew has a number of conspiracy theories going.
I'm sure such paranoid over-reactions will only add to the number of the next rally. It looks like the days of the self exiled convicted criminal's proxy government are numbered.
