Refer "However, the Pheu Thai Party’s legal team insisted that Mr Varathep is qualified, pointing out that he has not actually served a jail term even though he was sentenced to two years imprisonment. The sentence was suspended for two years." If this article is correct the legal team is wrong! The article states "that a cabinet member must not have been sentenced" it does not state "must not have served". Clean, clear and marching orders is only option other than a bit of cash under the table and all gets forgotten or pushed out in litigation for another 5 years or so.
