#9 I'm just trying to imagine Prime Placeholder Yingluck Shinawatra being able to even find the southern most provinces on a map, let alone summoning the competence & purpose necessary to deal with what's transpiring there... To appoint herself head of security and leave the country is ridiculous. You have a crisis, if you can't stay here and address it, appoint someone else. Not that anyone qualified exists amongst PTP.

@domdunnn. 'Of course she will be there...'

Exactly how many times has she actually been to Parliament in over a year ?

@bluebottle #4: Some luxury designer brands have their head offices in Europe and maybe she will be able to get a pair of shoes or the newest model of a pretty bag before anyone else in Thailand? I am sure some of her friends would be really impressed with her - it’s all a question of priorities.

@svenviking #2: But imagine Yingluck would pack her bags and go to the south to see exactly what is going on and to start solving the problem. Imagine she would tell us all that this is a lot more important than a couple of photo-ops in foreign countries and imagine she would even work hard to solve the southern problem. Just try to imagine it. At least I have difficulties to even imagine that she really cares about South Thailand and the idea that she would make this her top priority sounds completely ridiculous, don’t you think?

To believe that because someone is in charge of security they cannot leave the country is somewhat naive, its like believing that a doctor can't ever leave the hospital, or a chef the kitchen.

YS is delegating responsibility whilst leading a delegation, clever stuff!!

What foreigners think of the government's policies doesn't matter. Poll after poll shows the Thai people rate the drug suppression policy and the minimum wage policy highly.

    bluebottle D4.

Thailand has a huge European based tourist industry to protect in the face of growing regional competition, plus she's taking 50 businessmen with her, to try to increase business, presumably.

Of course she will be there, if you read the BP reports this week you will see that the two sides have agreed to hold the motion on dates on which she will be free to attend.

Why is she going to Europe anyway according to here Thailand dose little trade with Europe remember.
