FUTSAL WORLD CUP
Construction of the Bangkok Futsal Arena is finally finished, five days after the start of the 2012 Futsal World Cup on Nov 1.
Fifa, which gave the city until yesterday to make the new stadium in Nong Chok district ready for use, sent its officials to inspect the facility yesterday afternoon. The football association's governing body is expected to decide soon whether to add the arena to the tournament venues, deputy Bangkok governor Taya Teep-suwan said.
The flooring in the 1,250 sq m stadium was completed about 8am, hours before the arrival of Fifa representatives.
