Plot doubts grow as Thaksin drops Tachilek

The alleged assassination plot against ousted prime minister Thaksin Shinawatra is likely to have been manufactured to give the ex-premier a credible excuse not to visit Tachilek, intelligence analysts said yesterday.

According to a military intelligence source, Thaksin had no intention of visiting Tachilek, a border town opposite Chiang Rai's Mae Sai district.

As a fugitive with an arrest warrant out on him, his presence would increase pressure on the Yingluck administration.

Why believe anything until the truth comes out, if it ever does.

luckily Thaksin managed to convince Thaksin not to assassinate Thaksin, and as a thank you from Thaksin to Thaksin for preventing the assassination of Thaksin, Thaksin told Thaksin to build Thaksin a statue of Thaksin, which will remind the people of the glory of Thaksin.

I find it interesting how many people in this forum are (again) convinced their version of the truth is correct. I think we can all agree that we all don’t know enough details about what really happened. Only because Thaksin or his son or a military source or whoever says something does not make it true. I am sure lots of people want to see Thaksin dead, but this is nothing new for Thaksin. So wherever he goes he can rightly claim people want to kill him. But then he knew that risk when he started to plan his tour. Did he really want to go? Why did he cancel it? We will never know!

He certainly keeps trying to win sympathy but to say he was worried abut his supporters' safety is going too far, even for him. He has left them in the firing line before wile he was shopping in Europe. Perhaps he showing the first signs of senility?

Another weak attempt by Thaksin to remain relevant .

"The alleged assassination plot against ousted prime minister Thaksin Shinawatra is likely to have been manufactured to give the ex-premier a credible excuse not to visit Tachilek, intelligence analysts said yesterday."

Absolutely right! Maybe the PTP are finally realizing that Thaksin's stunts are too damaging to the greater cause.

"According to the military source, the assassination story can also be used to incriminate the ammart, or elite, who oppose Thaksin."

Incriminate yes. However, the last thing his opponents want is for TS to be assassinated. He already has hero status and to turn him in to a martyr would be a very bad idea

Another attempt from the poor guy to get the sympathy of the masses, not the first time and not the last time I guess.

"According to a military intelligence source"......military again? who is the source? does he have an agenda? If he has enough credibility to get his opinion published, then does he have enough credibility to have his name published?

"Thaksin 'Songkran Tour' in Vientiane today...Tomorrow, he is expected to leave Vientiane for Siem Reap in Cambodia." - BangkokPost, April 4th, 2012

Vientiane is 2000 feet from the Thai border. Siem Reap is 60 miles from the Thai border.
