VIENTIANE : The leaders of Asia and Europe have voiced strong determination to improve trade and investment relations, saying this will help Asia speed up development and pull Europe out of its downturn.

The 9th Asia-Europe Meeting (Asem) summit ended yesterday with members endorsing engagement with the World Trade Organisation, bilateral trade and investment pacts and technical cooperation between the two continents.
