Court may be asked to rule on Abhisit

Pheu Thai members will be asked to approve a petition for the Constitution Court to examine and rule on whether former prime minister Abhisit Vejjajiva is qualified to be an MP after he was stripped of his military rank and dismissed from military service retroactively for draft-dodging, Pheu Thai spokesman Prompong Nopparit said on Sunday.

Mr Prompong said a proposal would be made at a meeting of the Pheu Thai Party tomorrow for MPs to sign in support of the petition.

Apart from the petition to the Constitution Court, Pheu Thai will ask the Election Commission to review whether Mr Abhisit was qualified to be the opposition leader and to be nominated for the post of prime minister in the no-confidence motion filed against the government Saturday.

@Disc 12 - Bangkok has almost 50% of the voters who supports the PTP. For a long time you thought only those rich pro Dem live in Bangkok.

Disc 10 "40 million Thais ... the intelligent part of the country....." I'm very happy that now you realize that the vast majority in the country including the North East are actually intelligent. For a long time it appeared you thought only those in Bangkok had any smarts.

Disc 6 - Problem was Abhisit didn't explain or send a representative to explain he went to Hong Kong instead. A military court uses different rules than a civil or criminal one and when he didn't arrive he lost his chance to appeal.

This isn't about AV not being able to find a piece of paper he used 25 years ago, the allegation is that the piece of paper he used 25 years ago was a forgery, the army have already investigated and found the paper was falsified.

All AV has to do is explain how he came to be in possession of false documents, if he can do that he's in the clear.

Bonzo, discussion 3, although I do agree with your "they could find some time to focus on some more general issues and actual policies", this of course applied even more to Abhisit's focus on hunting down TS at the expense of everything and everyone else.

After 25 YEARS they want to "dismiss Abhisit from military service retroactively, effective June 2, 1988",bec. he doesn't have a piece of paper. 25 Years this was right and now bec. of change of Gov it is wrong ???
Yingluck should fire the defence minister immediately for using his political position to give personal favours to his boss in Dubai.
