Police post reply to 'Evil Krabi' video

KRABI - Police in Krabi have uploaded a video clip "The Truth from Krabi" to YouTube to explain the legal process in connection with the sexual assault of a Dutch tourist by a Thai tour guide and to counter the claim by the victim's father that authorities allowed "easy" bail for the suspect.

In the four-and-a-half minute clip, with no English subtitles, police say Krabi’s tourism sector had been hit hard by the "Evil Man from Krabi" clip posted on the internet last month by the father of the 19-year-old model.

According to the father, the tour guide was able to avoid police for about a month and he was allowed "easy" bail by the authorities after being captured. He also details other violent incidents in the in Ao Nang area involving tourists that he claims were covered up by the authorities.

Agreed the legal laws of Thailand are different to that of the Netherlands, but so are the ethics, moral fibre, feeling for humanity, equality of position in society, democratic rights and legal representation. I could go on.
Dutchman, my heart is behind you.
Krabi police, do your job and the public will be behind you.

Go to Ao Nang Beach and you will see NO laws are enforced. All driving around without helmet even the police ;-(( Parking is a big mess etc. How can you trust the police in this case here ??

Yes the Laws in Thailand. The problem is there isn't any law to protect tourist. Thailand only cares about the money from tourist. If your hurt or killed they will do nothing unless they are forced. Everyone other than Thai's will admit to this.
This Dad should be proud of what he has done. Hit them were it hurts. The Money! Thats all they understand.

I was explaining to my Thai wife that in Thailand it in not against the law to harm a falang. She said that was absurd. I asked her when was a Thai wife ever prosecuted for killing her husband. She hasn't gotten back to me on that, yet. The attacker got bail, but how about a report on what the police got from the attacker.

'The laws in Thailand and the Netherlands are different'. Yes, isn't that the problem? That, and even more so the way they are implemented and upheld, depending on who has the greatest influence or bigger wallet. And to post the video in Thai to counteract a video in English? Totally pointless. No foreigner will take any notice, so why bother. The Thai authorities just don't get it.

    Police - Truth = Oxymoron

In The Netherlands they call this throwing petrol into the fire. Again, no compassion for the victim, showing pictures of the victim, which is very disrespectful. This video will certainly call for an opposite reaction.

This a joke Krabi police need to get real, Thailand is not tourist friendly full stop and until some grown ups stop the violence towards tourists they will keep on losing their customers,

It is a very very bad move for the police to post a video on you tube it will only encourage more farang who have been scammed, beaten up and worse to post video's about their experience.

The Krabi police are throwing gasoline on a fire. I can't think of a better way to make to make them look ridiculous. Do Thai officials understand that they do more harm than good and look ridiculous in the eyes of the world when the pull this nonsense?
