Abhisit petitions Admin Court

Opposition and Democrat Party leader Abhisit Vejjajiva has submitted a petition to the Administrative Court, asking it to rule whether the Defence Ministry's order to retroactively dismiss him from military service and strip him of his rank is against the law.

Democrat Party spokesman Chavanont Intarakomalyasut said Mr Abhisit's case was filed with the Administrative Court by his lawyer on Monday.

the rich elite families in thailand have always used sharp practices, forged papers, old school favours, brown envelopes etc to ensure their family members moved onward and upward on an inside track... but now the world is becoming very much more transparent, these old practices are harder to keep hidden from an ever more better informed public

This case is best decided in court and that is where it is going. Fortunately, though the Democrats have limited support it includes people who can reason. They will feel sorry if Abhisit is guilty but know that the law needs to be respected. Just to update the expats, this issue has been checked at least twice by the army - it was found that Abhisit was not guilty. The government will just pull this case looooooooong, as the final verdict will be in Abhisit's favor.

how long have you been in Thailand redmaster? This has been going on for years and Abhisit has submitted those documents years ago and found to have followed the law. But every now and again some clown keeps bringing it up as if it is something new!!! Get real will you!!!

ringmaster - why should Abhisit have to prove something ISN"T fake? Of course, for PTP, everyone else is guilty until proven innocent. Their version of democracy.
OR do you have some proof from the Houston Post you wish to reveal?

Yingluck may dodge questions during the censure debate but Abhisit dodges the draft. Which kind of dodge is illegal?

If Abhisit has evidence to confirm that he had "never falsified or used fake documents" as Chavanot claims then he should just present it. This issue has been festering for a long time now, I don't know why Abhisit just doesn't present his evidence of innocence and end this once and for all... unless, perhaps he really is guilty and has no evidence to support his claims whatsoever.

Thaksin is obviously desperate to stop Khun Aphisit grilling Yingluck and exposing his mistakes and greed. She's going to look really silly when she reads from scripts in a way that does not answer his questions. Thaksin knows this, I expect.
