Thavorn: Abhisit still qualified

A leading member of the Democrat Party's legal team believes Abhisit Vejjajiva is still qualified to be an MP even though he has been stripped of his military rank.

Thavorn Senneam, a Songkhla MP, said the process of stripping Mr Abhisit's rank as ordered by Defence Minister Sukumpol Suwanatat had not yet been completed.  Therefore, the Democrat Party leader was still qualified.

Moreover, Mr Abhisit had the right to ask the Administrative Court to revoke the order even though it concerned military disciplinary action.

I object to it. Democrat Leader Abhisit Vejjajiva cannot be stripped off his military rank.

Why do you want to silence AV? Let him speak and if its later found that he isn't qualified, what does it matter if he made valid points.

The censure debate should be postponed while pending the court's decision on whether AV is still qualified to be a MP, unless AV declared that he will not be one of the opposition party speakers in the debate.

Can I ask a question? Does Thailand's Army have 'Military Justice' with military courts (and disciplinary counsils) in place to safeguard the respect of the (printed) Military Code of Rules and Laws? Yes? So?
IMO, outside the person AV, this is a mini-'coup' perpetrated by Officers(!) with TS/PTP signature against the Military Institution. In a Democracy one expects the Military to remain outside politics, this Government told the World that's what it wanted, now it's showing the exact opposite! DANGER!
