Jatuporn warns over Pitak Siam

UDD co-leader says govt at risk of ouster

The protest by the Pitak Siam group beginning on Nov 24 must not be ignored since it could potentially topple the government, red-shirt co-leader Jatuporn Prompan warns,

He urged the administration and the red shirts to manage the situation carefully.

Mr Jatuporn told the Bangkok Post in an exclusive interview Tuesday that about 30,000 protesters are expected to turn up on the first day of the rally at the Royal Plaza and another 40,000 would be there on the second day, brining the total number to 70,000 _ large enough to fill the entire plaza and extend all the way to parliament.

    Nui,
I always find the expression “burning Bangkok” slightly exaggerated and I am sure Nero would agree with me.

Same exaggeration as in “the Yellows strangling the country by shutting down its main airport for days” ?

Yes Jatuporn , hate speeches from stage , burning Bangkok and take the city hostage , siege of hospitals and TV stations , threaten ordinary people , M16 grenade launchers and automatic weapons in their hands and occupying government house and parliament will this time be illegal and undemocratic. Only red shirts and supporters are allowed to do that.

    Jatuporn is fast thinking.
I guess it is "game over" for the red-shirt puppet gov. with their 1 party , 1 men dictatorship from far away in Dubai.
As the prv. puppet-gov of Samak and Somchai the current gov. will fall down from its never ending greed for power and money.

Everyone in Thailand protests for something now - price of gas, price of food, life long terms for kamnan's, etc etc.

As annoying as I find it, Im okay with it..just please stop closing roads and do it in a stadium or park.

RE: D3 I have never liked this guy, but I fear he is not far from the truth in this instance...This group is for the most part is the PAD warmed over. They have one goal and that is to get power back for their side. The PAD has a very tarnished image, so they have tries to reincarnate themselves under a new banner. To cause a coup is their goal, and it worked for them in 06 and they are using the same road map. The Army in 06 sang from the same song book as now. Democracy is not their cup of tea, but control is; And to them the end justifies any means..regardless

#14, if you think that the corruption was lesser under the former administration, you mistake 100%. Read all the statistics in this matter. Now, i'm ok with you, the corrupted must be accountable to the Thai people, not to some groups with political agendas.

Why can't Democrats and the anti-Thaksin camp that the best option for Thailand and its democratic development would be for them to develop strategies that can win at the ballot box. Look at the United States, in 2002, Democrats were out of White House, signficantly outnumbered in the House of Representatives and lost the Senate. They didn't take to the streets, they strategized how to win - which in a democracy it means figure out how to get people to vote for you. Even after losing 2004 elections, they strategized more profoundly until they crawled their way back to power again. Now the Republic Party is doing the same thing.

#14, "All color groups should get off the street"... Red shirts included? Remember that millions people voted in good democracy last year and it's not because have some thousand angry people in the streets that it replace a vote. This people don't win in 2011, so they must work to win the next national scrutiny.
