PM tells Brits democracy will triumph

Yingluck addresses UK business figures

LONDON : Prime Minister Yingluck Shinawatra yesterday assured the British business sector that her government will overcome the anti-democratic movement in Thailand.

The prime minister gave an address on "2013: The Year of Opportunity in Thailand" at a lunch attended by British and Thai business operators at London's Grosvenor House Hotel yesterday.

Ms Yingluck, who is on an official visit to the United Kingdom, said she would do her best to ensure Thailand will continue to build on its current political stability and democratic foundations by strengthening the rule of law and good governance.

The biggest anti democratic movement in Thailand at present is the one that is letting the country be run on remote control by a fugitive criminal in Dubai. It astonishes me that someone can be a prime minister and be so naive about the intelligence of those who live in a country where honesty and ethics is a mainstay of politics and those who try to deceive the public generally get derided. The Shinawatras would find themselves far less popular or successful operating in Britain.

Does she really think the Brits cannot predict the looming "Thai spring"

....her government will overcome the anti-democratic movement in Thailand.
    Will it dissolve itself?

"strengthening the rule of law and good governance" - right, with criminals in charge...
"we will work to push back the anti-democratic groups that still exist in Thailand." - we're on witch hunt right now. Suppressing any opposition.
"Political differences must be settled in parliament, not in street protests and violence," - unless it is us who decide to burn down Bangkok - you know, for the good of the family...

The Brits may believe the BS from YS; we don't.
