A UN study has concluded that that it is acceptable in Thailand for a man to beat his wife, according to the Director of the Office of Women and Family, posttoday.com reported on Wednesday.
Thailand ranks second of the 49 countries studied on the topic of 'perceptions of domestic violence'. It said statistics show that 63% of people in Thailand think it's justifiable for a man to hit his wife.
The director says children in Thailand see violence all the time in today's media - in movies, television shows and games.
