Read 1997's "What China Knows That We Don't: The Case for a New Strategy of Containment," 2006's "String of Pearls: Meeting the Challenge of China's Rising Power across the Asian Littoral," and 2011's "America's Pacific Century," by Hillary Clinton. It is clear this is about reasserting US hegemony at the expense of both Asia's sovereignty and stability. US military presence in the region? Sounds like neo-imperialism.

I am please to see your are proud to be a partner with USA, USA aquiring high technology from Thailand is quite far fetched. It was the USA that just put a ballon in space and a man paracuted from it. Besides ballon are becoming obsolete. Satellites can do it all. With all due repsect ma'am you need to brush up on USA militarytechnology.

As much as I like America and agree they can be good allies I cannot stop thinking this was good salesmanship by America. They stand to sell more old out of date armament to Thailand,What happened to not trusting them on the NASA project.NASA has nothing to do with the military and now they sign up with the military implying they trust them. Unbelievable .
