Reds prepare for coup danger

Red shirts will gather in Nonthaburi, Samut Prakan and Pathum Thani on Nov 24 in response to the Pitak Siam group's anti-government rally at the Royal Plaza on the same day.

Red-shirt leader Worachai Hema said supporters will stay put in their respective provinces but will move to Democracy Monument if any untoward incidents take place.

"We will be ready. If the people's power is seized, we will head to Democracy Monument," said Mr Worachai, a Pheu Thai MP for Samut Prakan.

Can it ever end? It mostly sounds like Yabba Yabba Doo. Our prejudices colour everything and the greedy politicos play on that. I wish Khun Noppadol (you know whose advisor) could make better use of his mind and his degrees. But he will be well paid, I suppose. Has the Man Abroad truly never stirred emotions - wrongly?

I think Thailand heading toward a disastrous chaos. according to the past histories the Thai governments have been unseated illegally. if will be going for this one the civil war may not be avoidable. but I pray for peace for all the thai people. there is a way to remove legally elected government in a legal way by fighting with the ballot boxes. in order to avoid bloodshed.

I would guess a certain fugitive is behind the red demonstration.are they obeying there master. The same person that sees a threat to his dominance and thus his pocket money.People are fed up seeing the wast of there hard earned cash by the present government. That is not to say the other lot would be any better. It strikes me the whole thing needs a shake up to stop the destruction of a once great nation.Put all postpositions on the aircraft carrier and send them some where else and have a fresh start with the peoples needs the priority.

#38 writes "the Farang living is Isaan with their bar-girl wive". What a condescendant and insulting comment. But, if to be "bar girl" is the only way to live for a young Thai lady in Isaan, what a sad bilan and shame to the Thai society. I understand why the majority want it change. Old Thailand forget we are in the 21th and want a figed and reactionary society. Young Thailand want a society more just and equitable.

Instigating and supporting a coup in not democratic either, as the General so proudly proclaims is the purpose of this demonstration. Why not instead protest for a snap election? We know the reason for this, don’t we?

D 23 You can't ban a major party (TRT that won the previous election), hold elections and then claim it is a democratic election and that is what happened in 2007. In 2010 the UDD actions was aimed at forcing the government to hold early democratic elections in which PTP could compete. I don't agree with UDD methods in 2010 and neither do I agree with PS tactics in 2012. I agree with Gandhi's way.

The Chairwoman is silent and it is left to the chief co leader comrade agitators once again.

In the usual pattern Kwanchai the head rabble rouser will come out with new threats tomorrow after TS phones him today with instructions.

Has making trouble become stimulating for Mr T? There is regular activity from him every fortnight.

Ironically, the red shirts movement should thank Boonlert who has made them more united and forget their internal quarrels.

D25 Ian - You will find that most of us oppose the party (PTP) not the concept of the government. Most of us prefer a true democracy. And one BIG part of Democracy is that all people have a say and have the right to criticize the governing party and its policies. The UDD/PTP philosophy of "we won, we can do as we please" is not Democracy, but an elected dictatorship.
