Reds prepare for coup danger

Red shirts will gather in Nonthaburi, Samut Prakan and Pathum Thani on Nov 24 in response to the Pitak Siam group's anti-government rally at the Royal Plaza on the same day.

Red-shirt leader Worachai Hema said supporters will stay put in their respective provinces but will move to Democracy Monument if any untoward incidents take place.

"We will be ready. If the people's power is seized, we will head to Democracy Monument," said Mr Worachai, a Pheu Thai MP for Samut Prakan.

Oh! We thought the red shirts are not holding any rallies? Real cowards.

The Red Shirt leaders have called for coup preparation and warned of a coup so many times. It makes one wonder, if any of their supporters will be ready to act should a coup actually materialize.

Really pathetic how red shirts feel they must intimidate anyone who have views that go against their own. Counter rallies? Ready to move in if there is violence? To do what? Cause more violence? History already showed us that many red shirts behave above the law, they can still be seen roaming the streets of Bangkok from time to time, blatantly breaking traffic laws. What message do they want to convey, other than that we are a mob to be feared and distrusted? Obey us or else? Red is such an appropriate color for a group which behaves like dictatorial/communist rulers might.

If this country was a person, I'd have it committed for a psych evaluation.

Meanwhile, Pitak Siam said there was no need to invoke the Internal Security Act. "There will be no torching or laying siege to any hospital," Pitak Siam representative Chai Suwannaphap said.

    Haha! So spot on!

I think, Red-shirt leader Kwanchai must hold rally in Udon Thani, because of lack of money. All red shirt groups seem to have financial problems now and they collect money from their supporters.I have the feelings, that money support from Dubai is drying out slowly .But Red Shirts demonstrators are used to get paid to march to Bangkok and Pitak Siam supporters not.Big difference.

It is so undemocratic of the democratic reds to oppose a democratic rally. Did not the reds have a democratic anti-government rally in 2010 that the democratic government at the time did not try to stop. Does anybody really want a democratic government in Thailand or just words?

What if the people's power is not seized by the military but by the awakened people’s power? Maybe Democracy Monument will be occupied already by Pitak Siam’s second stage because Royal Plaza cannot accommodate hundred thousands of people. Maybe activities in military barracks are preparations in case the Internal Security Act is invoked and the military is ordered by the government to act as law enforcers, which is opposed by the military top brass.
