Panetta vows US will help battle threats

SIEM REAP : US Secretary of Defense Leon Panetta vowed to side with Asean in battling common threats during a meeting with his Southeast Asian counterparts in Cambodia yesterday.
Mr Panetta expressed his commitment at the Asean Defence Ministers' Meeting (ADMM) Retreat in Siem Reap, Cambodia. He said the United States will join hands with Asean to fight against common threats.
The US will also place an emphasis on cooperation with Asean on nuclear proliferation security initiatives and humanitarian and disaster relief (HADR), he added.
