I doubt that endorsement by chefs unknown outside Thailand (Chef McDang???) will have much influence on international travellers. Qatar Airways has recently presented a line-up on internationally recognised, Michelin-starred chefs to develop its catering. A few Thai TV chefs will not have the same impact.

Rants about new airplanes,”best restaurant in the sky”, Puff & Pie outlets in the Suwampapoon Airport Mall. All about new products and revenue. And mention of boosting staff morale. Not a word about better attitude and non-arrogant service towards the paying passengers. New technology will increase income (money again) with 2013 the Thai Digital Year. He’s correct there; the passengers will certainly be seeing the ‘digit’ again.

i just used IT on my 4G network to search for a flight from KUL-BKK return on 12/5 - 12/12. the results spoke for themselves, Thai airways had 7 airlines being cheaper in price the cheapest being almost half of Thai airways. As a consumer who does watch his money and would be considered an informed traveler why would I want to throw close to $150 USD away for a two hour flight? If Thai airways wants my business then they need to learn how to be competitive.

Assuming that every seat will now have its own entertainment screen, I also wonder if he will give instructions that the personal entertainment is turned on during domestic flights, that headsets will be provided (or will passengers watch the films with no sound like one listens to the news at the gates), and that the entertainment will include more than just documentaries about Thai culture, how beautiful and unspoiled Pattaya, Phuket, and Koh Samui are, etc.

I can't help but think that the improved food will be for First Class and Business Class passengers only. I wonder if the food for Cattle Class passengers will change.
