BANGKOK: A video clip of a traffic police officer trying to collect "tea money" from a motorist was posted on YouTube and drew many negative comments against the police by Thai netizens.

I have been stopped and forced to pay fines so often I finally ended up selling the car. That and the traffic suggest public transport is a viable option. Cope invent anything. They sometimes threatened me to take me in to the station ad have my license revoked for some weeks. Not a sngle time was the purported offense true.

Once, after paying at a tollway, I needed directions and pulled alongside a cop SLEEPING on a chair. After he gave me directions, he asked for 300 baht. His excuse? He saw I was speeding coming down the off ramp toward the toll booth. I laughed hard...and...drove off, leaving him laughing, too.
